The Dream Act... "Cynical"?

Okay, so to Understand this you're Gonna HAVE to read this Blog:

RJ Matson - The St. Louis Post Dispatch - Dont Ask Dont Tell Dont Dream Act-COLOR - English - Dont Ask Dont Tell Dream Act, Dont Ask Dont Tell, Dream Act, Immigration, Illegal Immigration, Path To Citizenship, Obama

Talk about Cynical!

This dude thinks that
1). People should be punished for their parent's actions
2). Previous Legal Status is connected to a person's ability to get into college
3). The military is degrading to people

Ask God, he's a Genius Too!

Hey, God Created Logic too ya Know!

Adding a Fact for the Ones Headed to Genius

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia

That's the word for the fear of long words.... funny how the word for having a fear of long words IS  a long word! That's how "seriously" this condition is taken.
Imagine someone who's legitimately  afraid of long words being shown the name of their condition by a psychiatrist... my oh my poor soul will be scared just as badly as little miss muffet when she sat on her tuffet!

What Would YOU do if you lived This long?

Meet Li Ching-Yun

If you lived this long you'd have plenty of time to do some pretty darn brilliant or stupid things- but at the same time You'd have to live the pains of old age for TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY SIX full years of life! Man... Maybe I'm just neither not Brilliant nor enough to even WANT to live this long!

Maybe this guy found the fountain of life that the Nestea Iced Tea makers have been looking for!

Environmental Sustainability a Brilliant Approach

Did you know that....

There's a single park in Costa Rica where more bird species than are found in all of North America abide?

Basically, Costa Rica has come up with a way to aid in the survival of animals, forests and humans in Symbiosis. The way they have done this is absolutely brilliant!

National Parks in Costa Rica are surrounded by buffer zones. What this means is that people can live in those areas, but they have to abide by certain regulations that are meant to preserve the natural environment. When this was put in place there was a lot of controversy, but a compromise had to be settled. Due to changes and sacrifices like these, Costa Rica can proudly say that they've been lending a hand to mother nature. They also gain the bragging rights of saying that they have more birds than we do here in North America!

Now, of course no everyone is fine with these regulations, people still hunt and kill animals that are being protected i.e. the Iguana in the picture above. However increasing the publicity of the fact that these creatures are endangered have helped!

Capitol Hill Wages in its Symbolic Battle

This I just call STUPID, for once I don't classify something as Brilliant or Genius

Everyone gets a cut outta this deal, but last night it seems Democrats stood their ground, they're gonna do every last little thing they can to prevent the tax cut plan from passing. Some are left with their mouths wide open at the size of the deal, others hate to see the amount its going to cost. One even said "the American people are willing to fight".... To Heck With That! I'm not fighting! I want our country outta this mess, and even if I don't like the tax cuts for the rich- I'm willing to handle that if I'll get the GOP to vote yes to the other sweet deals in this package.

A Filibuster! Really!? Really Sen. Bernard Sanders (I) Vermont
This kind of stuff is what brings the conservative side out of me!

Compromise- that's all there is to it Capitol Hill, compromise. This isn't a playground fight over toys, this is a matter of a broken economy and a broken system- some things are gonna involve sacrifice.

I'd Say This is Quite Ele'phant'cy! Technological Innovations!

Supplying Energy from- yup! You guessed it! Elephant Poop!

Okay, so some genius somewhere found a way to use something that has no use other than providing fertilizer for plants, and made it into a source of energy during a time when oil, pollution and energy are hot topics!

Wow, that's one true genius we've got there- Brilliant at that! If this idea goes as far as it could, this will help us help the earth :) do you have any idea all the farmers that could power their farms off cow poop!? Sure it stinks, but if it'll give us an alternative form of energy that's EXTREMELY low cost, and abundant- why not? On the way people may start caring for these animals as much as they care for oil!

For anyone who read my Shi-I Mean Poop Happens! post, no, I'm not obsessed with elephants, and much less elephant poop but it's the kind of thing where one site links to one that links to another that links to the next

The Face of Compromise

Obama Breaking a Promise or Necessary Sacrifice?

Okay, so it stirred up quite a bit of controversy when our nation's democratic president basically gave a 'thumbs up' to traditionally Republican tax cut for the wealthy- but analyzing it from the deeper end of things, it's a Brilliant plan.

If you really want something done between two sides, there has to be something in it for both. That's just how humans function- we're greedy! A quote that has definitely made Obama shine a little brighter in my (somewhat conservative but primarily liberal) eyes was one I read this morning in the Washington Post.

"I am not willing to let working families across this country become collateral damage for political warfare here in Washington, the American people didn't send us here to wage symbolic battles or win symbolic victories

I'm not going to lie- Obama was disappointing me a little at one point but things like this make me look at him the same way I did during the time of his campaign. Sometimes a few things have to be sacrificed to obtain a true victory; even if on the way up there it seems to be that all is lost. Hopefully this goes through and actually works. I mean- I for one know I can't complain about those 'across the board' tax cuts- What!? I'm a college student, we get a little stingy!

It's an expensive plan, it really is- so I understand those who oppose it, but when you look at the benefits that can be reaped from this, its a major investment. The savings people get mean people can spend more and that means more money flowing through the economy which is what the nation needs. Capitol Hill is on fire right now, they really are waging a symbolic war- but something needs to be settled ASAP!

Who to thank for your "Affordable" Car

Meet the Model T
An Innovation that has Persevered through Time
Okay, so I put quotations around it just because I know for many people now a days $15,000 isn't affordable, but way back when, a Genius called Ford- who was just about to reach Brilliance made cars available to the average American. So in other words people who didn't necessarily have much money stored away in the bank could ride around on this slow but long lasting and somewhat efficient car.

There's the Beauty :) I got it off of This Blog so Check it Out!

Essentially, even though he wasn't the first to make a car, or the first to use an assembly line- he thought of a way to put the two together to make a fast and SUPER effective way to create many cars. They were a fairly simplistic model, but hey it worked. Soon enough people were buying these cars for very affordable prices, and MANY MANY people were buying then, so Ford chimed in on the dime well. He's pretty Genius!

DNA mania in Science World: Arsenic vs Phosphorus

Okay, so this one's FOR the Geniuses (this IS a link, click it- or read below for a sum up)

So, for years and years and years and years we have thought that essentially phosphorus was the only nutrient base for DNA, but that's not true, Arsenic was found to have replaced it in some bacteria in California! Apparently this means that there very well may be other lifeforms in outer space! KEWL!

By the way, you can tell by how passionate the woman who is speaking for the science panel that she's a true Genius!

Wiki Leaks Wit

So if you haven't been following the news recently you might wanna click on the link above (it's the Headline- So where it says The Witty Man Behind Wiki Leaks) That way you can catch up on some pretty serious stuff that's been going on.... Here goes:
Click the picture above to enlarge
Okay, so this GENIUS ensured his safety, If he's put to jail, or if his site is shut down he'll unleash The Fury in other words, some more crazy stuff about the US government.... WOW!
The Fury has "top secret" information on BP and Guantanamo Bay!.... DOUBLE WOW!!
"If something happens to us, the key parts will be released automatically" [......... TRIPLE WOW!!!]              -Assange

So I'm not saying he's doing the right thing in releasing government information like crazy, but you have to give him credit.... He's protecting himself at all cost and the way he's doing it.... That's pretty darn witty! And okay, I'll admit maybe this isn't exactly "Genius" it may be a little on the "Stupid" end of this Hierarchy, but I'm trying to give him some credit for defending his beliefs- which I'm guessing involve things like "the government shouldn't be hiding stuff from us anyway" so in a way it's pretty Genius, his defending his right to freedom of speech aka ratting on the government. (While putting lives in danger.... Okay- It's stupid in reality but we can pretend it's genius right?)

Talk about Witty

Putting Away Childish Things of the Day

Just thinking about this childhood classic being applied to a plight from authorities is funny.

Oscar Wilde: One Witty Son of a Gun

Meet Oscar:
"Life is much too important a thing ever to talk seriously about it."
                                                                                      -Oscar Wilde

If you've ever watched the movie, "The Importance of Being Earnest" (Which is a GREAT movie by the way) you've realized how very witty Oscar is.

So this guy, Oscar Wilde, was the son of two talented writers, he studied at Oxford at one point and later got married. He published a good bit of plays and a very controversial novel which was claimed very immoral for his time. After the death of his wife he eventually found a male lover, but that didn't last much because four years later he was arrested and accused of homosexuality. (As Neos has said, "This guy was so deep in the closet that he could have found Narnia!") That's true, he definitely could have, he was married to a woman and had children- who would have ever guessed? Regardless..... The point is, this man is WITTY, he managed to reach Brilliance on our Hierarchy, a very well deserved title. He spoke his voice, wrote many plays that entertain us today, gave us insight on his times through witty remarks and followed his beliefs with a hint of crazy. Congrats Oscar!
